<div><em>I started Dukan over a year ago and lost over 5 stones in a year and was really committed to the diet. Then my 40th happened,and I thought what the heck and I then went by the wayside over the last few months and have put 2 stone back on &#8211; and not because of the diet, because I started to really binge eat the wrong foods, chocolate, sweets, chips, KFC&#8217;s (basically I nearly inhaled the food &#8211; but that is due to my own relationship with food rather than the failing of the diet) &#8211; I bought this book to help try and re-invigorate my mojo and I have to say, if you are thinking of doing the Dukan diet, buy this book and not the paperbacks. This is more user friendly &#8211; you can see pictures of the recipes and there looks some absolutely gorgeous stuff in there.</em><br />
<em>Last Christmas I was on the Dukan diet and coped really well and really stuck to it, so I&#8217;m not going to use it&#8217;s nearly Christmas as an excuse to start the program again.</em><br />
<em>The diet works, if you are in the right headspace and if you can only afford one Dukan book, this is the one to buy in my humble opinion.</em><br />

<div><em>It does and I&#8217;m actually enjoying it! From day 1 I&#8217;ve never had any cravings and the thought of eating carbs makes me feel nauseous, I do think I was Protein deficient but am now reaping the benefits as my hair &amp; skin look great. The weight loss is now slowing down but not in any rush and I&#8217;m in this for the long term.</em></div>
<div><em><strong>Tips:</strong> Always have something on hand to eat, I make all my food the night before and always managed to refuse cakes, chips, crisps etc at work.</em><br />
<em>Enjoy the new way of eating, there is no point in bemoaning what you used to eat, this is a way for life for at least six months. </em><br />
<em>Try Yoga, I swear doing Sun Salutations twice a day is moulding my body back into shape, 2 x 10 mins sessions and I swear my bingo wings are disappearing&#8230;.</em><br />
<em>Try Fish!! I love going to my Fishmongers now and alternate my meals with Chicken.</em><br />
<em>Sugar Free Jelly, it&#8217;s a life saver!</em><br />
<em>Have more than one variety of Protein for your meals, more filling and more choice.</em><br />
<em>And lastly I know this is not in the book but I have a treat almost every day, two squares of Green &amp; Blacks Chocolate, I always eat straight after my main meal, no difference at all to my weight but it makes me happy so I think it&#8217;s worth it!</em></div>

I bought this as a present for a friend recently who&#8217;s been seriously ill with an &#8216;unknown&#8221;unrecognized&#8217; stomach disorder since childhood &amp; has finally been diagnosed as a Coeliac of October this year. (He&#8217;s now 47!)</div>
<div>When I read through the book as a non-sufferer it did explain pretty clearly what causes the disorder &amp; the various things available on the specialist diet that then follows diagnosis.</div>
<div>My friend did say he found parts of it a little patronising almost but alot of that may&#8217;ve been due to all the prior info he&#8217;s had from doctors since a stint in hospital.</div>
<div>I think this book is ideal for anyone trying to get their head around things &amp; those of us who don&#8217;t have the disorder but want to understand it &amp; support those who do.</div>

<p><em>I got this book along with the Clean and Lean diet book and I&#8217;ve gotta say it&#8217;s brilliant, ive made loads of the recipes from this book and they are all easy and non time consuming and taste great, my husband was even impressed with the taste and he is totally health food phobic! I would defiantly recommend this along side clean and lean as it opens you eyes to loads of flavours and meals you otherwise may have never have come up with!</em></p>

<em>Read this first in a 4 week special in Grazia magazine and thought I&#8217;d give this a go. I was excited to get the book when it arrived and couldn&#8217;t wait to start reading it. I&#8217;ve being using t</em><em>he recipes for the last week and found that I&#8217;m full not hungry. I&#8217;m really enjoying the cooking as well. Shopping for food has become a great new experience as I </em><em>love to source new foods that I haven&#8217;t had before such as haricot beans used in the chicken cassoulet (tastes fab too). I&#8217;m not going to weigh myself for a few weeks but I&#8217;ve already noticed my skirts are not so tight around the waist. If I loose weight it will be a bonus I just wanted to start eating better food and stop eating processed and junk food. I&#8217;m so impressed I&#8217;ve ordered James Duigan&#8217;s previous book and can&#8217;t wait for it to arrive. Good value for money if your prepared to change your eating habits.</em></p>

<p>Did you know that the vast majority of people in this day and age have excess abdominal fat? The first thing that most people think of is that their extra abdominal fat is simply ugly, is covering up their abs from being visible, and makes them self conscious about showing off their body.</p>
<p>However, what most people don&#8217;t realize is that excess abdominal fat in particular, is not only ugly, but is also a dangerous risk factor to your health. Scientific research has clearly demonstrated that although it is unhealthy in general to have excess body fat throughout your body, it is also particularly dangerous to have excess abdominal fat.</p>
<p>There are two types of fat that you have in your abdominal area. The first type that covers up your abs from being visible is called subcutaneous fat and lies directly beneath the skin and on top of the abdominal muscles.</p>

Visceral fat also plays a role in giving certain men that &#8220;beer belly&#8221; appearance where their abdomen protrudes excessively but at the same time, also feels sort of hard if you push on it.</p>
<p>Both subcutaneous fat and visceral fat in the abdominal area are serious health risk factors, but science has shown that having excessive visceral fat is even more dangerous than subcutaneous fat. Both of them greatly increase the risk your risk of developing heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, sleep apnea, various forms of cancer, and other degenerative diseases.</p>
<p>Part of the reason visceral fat is particularly dangerous is that it apparently releases more inflammatory molecules into your body on a consistent basis.</p>
<p>If you care about the quality of your life and your loved ones, reducing your abdominal fat should be one of your TOP priorities! There&#8217;s just no way around it. Besides, a side-effect of finally getting rid of all of that excessive ugly abdominal fat is that your stomach will flatten out, and if you lose enough stomach fat, you will be able to visibly see those sexy six pack abs that everyone wants.</p>
<p>So what gets rid of extra abdominal fat? Is there actually a REAL solution beyond all of the gimmicks and hype that you see in ads and on commercials for &#8220;miracle&#8221; fat loss products?</p>
<p>The first thing you must understand is that there is absolutely NO quick fix solution. There are no pills or supplements of any sort that will help you lose your abdominal fat faster. Also, none of the gimmicky ab rockers, rollers, or ab belts will help get rid of abdominal fat either. You can&#8217;t spot reduce your stomach fat by using any of these worthless contraptions. It simply doesn&#8217;t work that way.</p>
<p>The ONLY solution to consistently lose your abdominal fat and keep it off for good is to combine a sound nutritious diet full of unprocessed natural foods with a properly designed strategic exercise program that stimulates the necessary hormonal and metabolic response within your body. Both your food intake as well as your training program are important if you are to get this right.</p>
